HYDROWorks Group Fitness 101

HYDROWorks Group Fitness Classes are free to all members and are taught by certified instructors. No swimming skills are needed for any of the HYDROWorks Fitness classes. These classes provide a safe and effective low to no impact workout involving progressive resistance exercises (with or without props) to develop muscular strength and endurance, improve cardiovascular fitness, and increase flexibility.

What do I need to know about choosing a class?

  • Unless indicated, you may begin a class at ANY time.

  • For new participants, we recommend you introduce yourself to the instructor before the class starts.

  • Find a class time that works into your schedule.

  • Try several different styles of classes and instructors. Or feel free to just watch a class!
  • What should I do for my first class?

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts and introduce yourself to the instructor.

  • For Water Group Fitness classes, do not feel you need to coordinate the feet movement with the arms. Learn the footwork first, and then add your arms.

  • Work at your own pace, and slow down if you are tired.

  • HAVE FUN!!
  • What do I wear to a Water Group Fitness class?

  • A comfortable bathing suit. One that allows a large variety of movements.

  • Comfortable pair of water shoes to help with footing on the bottom of the pool or flip-flops or sandals for walking in locker rooms and hallways.

  • Some kind of cover up or T-shirt if walking in hallways of the Club between locker rooms and pool.

  • It is a good idea to bring a shower towel as well or you may pick one up at the Concierge Desk when you check into the club for $.25 per use or $6 monthly.
  • What is the minimum age requirement for the Water Group Fitness classes?

  • All Water Group Fitness Classes are for ages 16 and up.

  • Children aged 13-16 must get instructor approval prior to class.

  • Absolutely no children under the age of 13 are allowed in these classes. Infants and toddlers may visit the Children’s Activity Center. The Children’s Activity Center is a safe alternative for your busy infant or toddler while you work out.
  • How often does the schedule change?

  • The schedule changes approximately every 2-3 months.

  • Please check our Water Group Fitness schedule monthly.
  • We often offer seasonal and specialty classes throughout the year.
